The Institute (IPS)

 

 

IPS commenced its mission imparting classes for CA Intermediate and CA Final Examinations in 1998 as a part of the then M/s. Kolath Management Consultancy Services. IPS is among the very few coaching institutes in India providing classes exclusively for CA Course.  IPS became the official education wing of M/s. Kolath Management Consultants (P) Limited in February, 2000 to provide Professional Education. M/s. Kolath Management Consultants (P) Limited is a multi-functional consultancy service provider with its offices located at Ernakulam, Chennai and Bangalore and associate network world-wide.

 

 

IPS enrolls students for its classes, which are handled by highly qualified and experienced faculty. IPS ensures that its students are not only equipped in passing the professional examinations, but also in facing the challenges of the profession. IPS has always ensured that a proper foundation is laid for its students.

 

IPS classes for CA PE I will commence in June and for CA PE II will commence in July every year.

 

  

Accomplishments

 

 

Over a period of 5 years, IPS has brought out best results. IPS has produced rank holders and has maintained a high pass percentage. IPS over the years maintained 90% subject pass and 50% group pass in CA Intermediate, CA PE II and CA Final Examinations.  IPS always maintained small batches and provided individual attention to its students.

 

 

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION (COURSE – I)

 

 

Who can join the PE I Course?

 

 

Ž    A person who have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent recognised examination.  (Recognised Examination means examinations recognised by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.)

 

Ž    No restrictions with regard to the age of the candidate or marks secured in Senior Secondary Examination or subjects studied.

 

Ž    Graduates/Post Graduates who have secured less than specified marks as given below

 

(a)                Commerce graduates with Accountancy, Auditing and Mercantile Law or Commercial Law as full examination papers and with less than 50% of the total marks. (Full examination paper means a paper carrying not less than 50 marks).

 

(b)               Non-commerce graduates with mathematics as one of the subjects and with less than 60% of the total marks.

 

(c)                Non-commerce graduates with subjects other than mathematics and with less than 55% of the total marks.

 

 

How to register for the PE I Course?

 

 

A student can register for the PE I Course by making an application in the prescribed format and payment of the prescribed Registration and Tuition Fee for Professional Education (Course I) (at present Rs. 2,000/- for Students in India) to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

 

 

What is the duration of PE I Course?

 

The PE I Course has a minimum duration of ten months.

 

 

 

 

 

When can you register for the PE I Course?

 

The registration for PE I Course can be done throughout the year. The examinations for PE I Course are conducted twice every year by ICAI in May and November.

 

When is the last date for registration if you have to appear in May and November Examinations?

 

As the minimum duration of PE I course is ten months, the last date will be as follows.

 

For May Examination                                       30th June of the Preceeding year.

For November Examination                              31st December of the Preceeding year.

 

 

What are the subjects of PE I Course?

 

1.                  Fundamentals of Accounting                                                                            

2.                  Mathematics and Statistics

3.                  Economics

4.                  Business Communication and Organisation and Management.

 

The level of knowledge expected in these subjects is basic knowledge.

 

Should I study only in an Accredited Institution to obtain eligibility for PE I?

 

It is not compulsory to study in an Accredited Institution.  Students attending classes in accredited institutions will be required to follow relevant guidelines.  Other students will have to follow Postal Test Paper  Scheme of ICAI to obtain the eligibility certificate for PE I.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What role can Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) play in my PE I Course?

 

1.      IPS will provide free counseling to students interested in joining the PE I Course.

2.      IPS conducts orientation sessions to students interested in joining the PE I Course.

3.      IPS conducts classes in the utmost professional manner to students of the PE I Course.

4.      IPS conducts lectures, orientation programs, regular test papers and model examinations to equip the students for the PE I Course and enable them to pass the examination.

5.      IPS provides faculty assistance for B.Com students.

Class timings

 

The classes will be held between 09:00 am & 04:30 pm (0900 hrs & 1630 hrs) on all Weekends and public holidays (if necessary).  Weekend means Saturday and Sunday.

 

How can I join IPS?

 

You can apply for joining IPS by submitting the application and declaration in the prescribed format attached with the prospectus and payment of Registration and course fee either in lump sum or installment basis.

 

The Registration fee and course fee can be paid by cash at our office at Ernakulam or through Demand Draft in favour of Institute of Professional Studies payable at Ernakulam.

 

 

 

 

 

Fees structure

 

1.      Registration fee Rs. 500/-

2.      Lump sum fee of Rs. 4,000/- for PE I Course.

3.      The students have the facility to pay in 2 or 3 installments.

The fees structures in such cases is as follows:

Rules and Regulations

 

 

  1. In case of leave of student shall submit self – signed leave letter in prescribed format in duplicate. A copy of the same shall be send to the parents along with monthly progress report.

 

 

  1. In case of delay in payment of fees, a fine of RS. 10/- per day exclusive of service tax will be charged.

 

 

  1. In case of inordinate absence of more than 5 days the students shall be liable for dismissal .

 

 

  1. The student shall not cause any loss to any assets in the premises of the IPS or of other persons.

 

 

  1. The student shall come neatly dressed preferably in formal wear.

 

6.      The students shall at all times behave with dignity and discipline.

 

7.      The student shall maintain discipline and silence in and around the premises of IPS.

 

8.      The student shall attend the classes regularly.

 

9.      The student shall appear and attend all examinations conducted by IPS. In case of any indiscipline during examination the student shall be liable for disciplinary action.

 

10.  The student shall pay his fees and other dues , if any within his prescribed period. The student shall be liable for dismissal in case of fees and dues outstanding more than 5 days.

 

11.  IPS  reserves the right of admission to students .

 

12.  IPS  shall not be liable if the classes are cancelled due to reasons beyond its control.
